We raised a record-setting $20,000 at the Springs Run 7.2K this year.

Fun was had by all and we’re donating more than ever before.

On February 1st, we hosted our annual 7.2K Springs Run benefiting the Florida Springs Institute.

It’s hard to believe the Springs Run 7.2K has turned five years old! What started out as a fun way to raise awareness and a little bit of money to support Florida Springs has turned into a true phenomenon. With over 780 runners participating in the 2020 event, the Springs Run 7.2K is now one of the largest races in Gainesville. As a result, we were able to raise $20,000 dollars to donate to the Florida Springs Institute to support their springs education programs!

Following the conclusion of the race, runners were treated to a free beer and a day full of live music and art. The Springs Fest 2020 featured 5 different bands, art vendors, and four food trucks. Guests braved some brisk winds to enjoy music while relaxing around fire tables in the beer garden. For the first time ever we released special Springs Run brews. The Springs Session hazy IPA was released on draft and in 16oz cans while the River Run lager with grapefruit and salt was released on draft only.

The funds we raise go to help put on the Florida Springs Institute’s various educational programs including Give Springs a break. This weekend event combines learning and relaxation, with activities for college students and young professionals who are passionate and concerned about our environment and the future of Florida’s freshwater resources.
